Tarry Awhile: St Mary's Lent course 2024

This Lent we will be exploring wisdom from Black spirituality for people of faith using the book "Tarry Awhile" by Selina Stone. This is the Archbishop of Canterbury's Lent book for 2024.

Archbishop Justin writes "Dr. Selina Stone draws on the tradition of 'tarrying': staying with the Lord, bringing the wisdom of Black spirituality to bear on our individual and collective waitings on Christ. What tarrying does... is open the possibility for genuine encounter, with God and between ourselves."

The course will run for five weeks from Wednesday 21 February, 7-8.30pm in the main church. We will have limited free copies of the book available, but would encourage people to buy their own before the start of the course. Refreshments will be provided.
