We are delighted to welcome Antoine Pichon back to perform after his well-received recital last year. Come and be transported by works of pianistic virtuosity from two masters of the instrument, Mozart and Medtner.
This lunchtime concert will feature two piano sonatas from different epochs, both exhibiting an unusually large diversity of characters. Mozart Sonata in C minor K 457 is one of his most dramatic works for piano, followed by Medtner 'Night wind' Sonata in E minor, op. 25 no. 2, an extraordinary and rare masterwork of Russian post-romanticism.
Performers and theme to be announced.
Come and be delighted by high quality classical performances in our beautiful church. The concerts will take place on the third Friday of every month at 1.15pm with free hot drinks and cake served from 12.45pm.
The concerts are free and you do not need a ticket.
Dates for the next few concerts are 16 May, 20 June and 18 July.
The free Friday lunchtime recitals at St Mary's have been made possible by the legacy gift of Denise Antenen and generous donations from members of St Mary's congregation.
