We regret to inform you that, due to ill health, Sophie Davis will not be able to perform in this month’s concert.
However, we are delighted that flute duo Elizabeth Meyer and Lucy Driver have agreed to step in at short notice.
Elizabeth and Lucy have prepared a programme of music spanning the baroque era to the twentieth century, including works by Bach, Mozart, Handel, and Bizet.
Elizabeth Meyer
Elizabeth is a freelance flautist based in London. Worked with several orchestras including: Hampstead Garden Opera, Hastings Philharmonic, Heart of England Chamber Orchestra and London’s New Opera Group. Outreach work with London Philharmonic Orchestra in their Open Sound project and Side by Side schemes with London Philharmonia and Welsh National Opera.
She has given solo performances for Trinity College of London and her chamber music includes collaborations with violinist Leora Cohen and pianist Dr Paul Wingfield. The group has played in several chamber music festivals including the 1901 Arts Club, Tilford Bach Society, Benslow Music and Egham and District Music Club and the University of Cambridge.
Elizabeth teaches privately at her home in Kent and also at the University at Chichester.
Lucy Driver
Lucy is a freelance flautist and teacher based in London. Lucy started her musical education at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, before moving to Cologne, Germany to continue her studies. Lucy completed her postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music, London in 2022. Lucy’s professional life started with the London Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the Foyle Future First development scheme. She spent a year with Southbank Sinfonia, an ensemble that offers professional training and development opportunities, during the 2023/24 season.
Currently Lucy is freelancing with a number of British orchestras such as the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Opera North, Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra and English Touring Opera. Lucy was featured as a soloist in the soundtrack to Joanna Hogg’s film, ‘The Eternal Daughter’, starring Tilda Swinton. As well as playing, Lucy enjoys teaching, both privately and as staff at King’s College London.
Come and be delighted by high quality classical performances in our beautiful church. The concerts take place on the third Friday of every month at 1.15pm with free hot drinks and cake served from 12.45pm.
The concerts are free and you do not need a ticket.
Dates for the next few concerts are 21 March, 25 April and 16 May.

Elizabeth Meyer
Sophie Davis is an enthusiastic mezzo-soprano from London with a passion for classical performance. Having studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, she graduated with a first-class degree under the guidance of Sarah Pring. Sophie’s training has fostered a strong work ethic, purposeful commitment, and a deep understanding of musical disciplines, complemented by vocal and dramatic versatility. Her enthusiasm for Art Song is evident in her performances to date, including a finalist position in the Courtney Kenny Competitio
Sophie furthered her artistic development under the tutelage of Sarah Tynan and, more recently with Mark Oldfield. She is particularly inspired by performing thought-provoking contemporary classical works and enjoys curating recital programmes that integrate music with spoken text to create engaging and meaningful experiences for her audiences.
Recent performance highlights include a recital at St. Botolph without Aldgate, where Sophie performed Samhain, celebrating the Celtic festival and exploring the interplay of light and shade through the changing seasons. Prior to this, she presented Tell Me Your Story at Westminster Music Library, a programme celebrating female composers, including Libby Larsen's Love After 1950. These performances demonstrated Sophie’s musical sensitivity, storytelling ability, and flair for connecting with diverse audience
In addition to her performance work, Sophie has developed Forte Fitness, a bespoke fitness programme designed to help fellow musicians enhance their physical fitness and performance capabilities reflecting her holistic approach to the performing arts.
