Palm Sunday Crosses at St Mary’s

On Palm Sunday, 13 April, we will remember Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem by distributing and blessing palm crosses to everyone at our 9 and 11am services at St Mary’s. The crosses symbolise the palm branches the crowds waved and laid before him.

This joyous occasion marks the beginning of Holy Week.

The palm crosses that we will distribute this year are made in villages in the Massai Diocese of Tanzania. The villagers make them whilst guarding local maize crops from baboons. Their work supports theleprosymissionshop.com

Please take your palm crosses home and keep them as a reminder of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem and the events leading up to his crucifixion.

We will burn this year’s Palm Sunday crosses to make the ash for next year’s Ash Wednesday services.
