St Mary's Festival: The Music and Poetry of Water

  • St Mary's Church Upper Street London, England, N1 2TX United Kingdom (map)

Come and be immersed in performances and readings capturing the essence of water. The evening will include excerpts from George Frideric Handel’s celebrated suites of ‘water music', as well as folk songs, spirituals, and jazz standards inspired by rivers and seas. There will also be music by living composers: ‘Deep Blue’ by flautist Ian Clarke, and a choral work, ‘Give Me the River’ by Toby Young. Between the musical items, there will be readings of poetry inspired by water and its sources.
