Wednesday, August 2, will be this year’s Earth Overshoot Day. That is the day when humanity’s demand for natural resources and services exceeds what Earth can regenerate in the whole of this year.

St Mary’s has played a central role in the history of Islington for over a thousand years.

Now you can discover the history of St Mary’s and enjoy a panoramic view across London from its 18th-century tower on a 90-minute guided tour led by Islington Guides Walks.

On Saturday 17 June St. Mary's Church, Upper Street welcomed over 450 people to the ordination of priests by The Rt Revd and Rt Hon. Dame Sarah Mullally, Bishop of London. 17 ordinands were ordained as priests and are now able to offer communion at church services and officiate at wedding ceremonies. Two of those being ordained, Freya Bradley and Josh Richards, are currently serving as curates at St Mary's on Upper Street.
